AUGUST 28-29 - VENDEE

VOLCOM STONES TOTALLy CRUSTACEOUS TOUR EUROPE 2004

THE MULLET FISH
BUD BUD BEACH
28th AUGUST
VENDEE

With consistant waves threw the whole month of August, the second event of the MULLET FISH was almost cancelled due to poor conditions of bad weather and lack of swell. With the motivation level so high, we started to brave the elements and run the contest with the 40 contestants ready to get underway.

The final of the groms was a close affair, Gordon Fontaine took the win for the second consecutive year. Finishing in a close second was Tom Cloarer, followed by Ian Fontaine, and rounding out the final in fourth was Hugo Le Frapper.

For the junior final the waves were getting better and the sun was looking like it might come out. Guillaume Descazux tried the rights and it paid off placing him and he took the win. In second was Scott Fountaine, with Antoine Rageau in third and Thomas Esquillot fourth.

Anthony Clergeau watched as his final paddled out, but with enough time, he still managed to lock in to the best waves and take home the win. With the other Fountaine brothers Gordon in second and Scott in third and Caste Alfred in fourth. Anthony also won best trick with a nice front side Air.

During the day competitors were eating a local delicacy, La mogette which is beans that were cooked the night before and then heated on the sand on the beach to complement the BBQ. This all took place in the Mogette Kosmic, Fresh’s little beach shack.

At the end of the day the sun was out and everybody was happy thanks to Fresh and his crew for making the motivation come through the clouds. Thanks to all the Mullet Fish supporters Nixon watches, Electric sunglasses, Etnies shoes.
