Volcom Stone's VQS Crustaeous Tour - WA Saturday October 2nd

Scarborough Beach in Perth, Western Australia, is a great place to hold theVQS Cuttlefish event. Yep, that's right - you were thinking the waves wereto be small on shore. Well last year they were, but not this year.

We woke up nice and early to find 3 to 4 feet left and right barrelling peaks with some steep little ramps. The local kids were stoked with a niceand relaxed walk to sign up for the day. We were happy - having all divisions filled and ready to go by 8am (75 Competitors). Guest appearancesfrom Courtney Brown and Joe dirt pulled a large crowd with plenty of peoplesoaking up the start of summer, kicking back to the Volcom Ent. beats forthe long weekend.

The VQS "Idols" were the best yet, with Mike Manning singing and dancing awell-covered rendition of Shannon Noll's song ("What about me?"). He tookhome a pair of DVS shoes. It was his day, scoring perfect 10s in two earlyheats and then progressing to the final.

The giveaways were flowing -Electric sunnies, DVS Shoes, Nixon Watch's, Waves mags, Body Glove wetsuits, and a ton of Volcom clothingwas up for grabs. The whole beach walked away with a bunch of stickers andposters. Volcom WA representative Mike Maxted had the day covered with hiscamera so keep your eyes out for your face in Waves magazine.
