NOVEMBER 20 - CAPE TOWN, S.A.

The third and final stop on the VOLCOM VQS TOUR went down this weekend in Cape Town beautiful Big -Bay; with the backdrop of the notorious Robin Island (Nelson Mandela’s prison) perfect 4-5 foot waves were torn to shreds by WQS pros and local hotties alike.

WQS campaigner Antonio Bortoletto was triumphant at the end of the day, busting a wicked air in the last minute of the final to steal victory from Durban's Matthew Kruger. Third was local Ewald van Heerden ahead of Port Elizabeth's Dylan Stone .both Antonio and Matt traveled all the way from Durban just to qualify for the VQS finals! Good on ya boys!

The juniors division saw Brett Shearer take out Dave Richards and Volcom team star Brandon Roberts, and Cape Town local Wesely Grey.

Matt Bromley stole the grom show with a 8 point ride in the first minute, he never looked back .Jaco Steyn, Brendon Gibbons and David Brand were 2nd 3rd and 4th respectively.

Volcom team gal Tasha Mentasti made her second final in as many events, but failed to find the winning waves and placed 4th, the win going to Cape Town’s Stacy Guy with 2nd and 3rd to Penny Robarts and Tarryn Chudliegh respectively.

Although massive fog delayed the start of the event on Saturday, when the sun came out, perfect 4 foot waves were on offer, which all competitors putting it on the line for the coveted finals berth , which shall take place in February of 2005.
