VOLCOM STONE’S GRILLFISH SURF SERIES
BALANGAN BEACH – PECATU, BALI
17th April, 2005

VOLCOM STONE GRILLFISH was held at Balangan Beach. The wave is a lefthander and the conditions 2 to 3,5 ft perfect wind - off shore conditions and a sunny day-it doesn’t get much better. The kids were ready on the beach early morning with there weapons.

In the Groms Division, Wayan Hendra who has strong goofy-stance put himself in 1st place with his 3 times off the lip and floater combination as his opening ride. Rounding out this final was Nyoman Hendrawad, Agus Sumariasa and Agus Juliantara. The 18 and Under final was a heated battle between rivals Kadek Ardana and Ketut Yoga Semadi a.k.a Mega. Kadek was ripping hard in his long ride and did a couple of smooth off the lip, but it wasn’t enough to take out Mega who has experience in Hawaii waves.

In the Pro Am Division, Mega was getting nuts!! He did 3 times off the lip and big air to finish his ride. Two “thumbs nut” for him! All kids were getting nuts when Volcom crew threw out Volcom giveaways…. This was also the final event of the Grillfish surf series.......these kids are now looking forward to the finals later this year!!!!!
