SEACOW SURF SERIES
SEBASTIAN INLET, FLORIDA
DECEMBER 2, 2006

This past weekend the Seacow Surf Series made it’s first stop of the year at Sebastian Inlet State Park in the wonderful state of Florida. For the last couple of years this event has been growing and this year was by far the biggest Seacow event ever! We set up the beach and got underway with 186 competitors fighting for invites to the $100,000.00 Dollar VQS Champs in May of 2007. Throughout the day we witnessed a ton of good surfing and of course groms being tortured for prizes, making for a great day of entertainment. Here’s a little info on the rest of the day.

Lets start off with the little guys. The Groms (14 & Under) saw a couple new faces to the VQS and we hope you guys can make it out to the champs event. Taking the win and a trophy that he can now kill ants with was Mr. Tommy Orinsini. Tommy took out second place finisher Tanner Strohmenger and Tanner took down Ryan Croteau who landed himself in the third spot. All of our groms finalist took home huge prize bags and our top 5 competitors took home invites to the big show in May of 2007.

Eric Taylor

Now on to the Juniors divison. These kids are starting to surf better and better each year. Our 2005 Groms VQS Champs winner Oliver Kurts couldn’t take out his fellow competitor Jon Leaf who took the top spot. Jon took home a super pimped out bright green 24 inch rim RC bad ass car as well as a huge prize bag. Taking the third spot was none other than super local guy Chase Parker who has been surfing very well latley I must say. As for all of our divisions the top five get the invites to the Champs. Right on!!!

Justin Ellingham

Oh my god the ladies were on fire all day!!! Taking the top spot was inlet local girl Connie Aires. Connie surfed well enough to beat out Savannah Stadden as well as a large list of talented girls from around the state. She went home with a whole grip of prizes and a custom trophy to kill small bugs with. Thanks Ladies!!! See you at the Champs.

David Aubrey

Last but not least our Pro-Am divison. This was the largest Pro-Am event to date with a round of 64 signed up and ready to go. The Seacow had a bunch of surfers who looked like they were in the hunt of a win, but were stopped short of the final, with names like Billy Hume, David Awbrey, Justin Ellingham and Marshall Alberga. Taking the victory, bragging rights and $500.00 at the Seacow was Post Local Eric Taylor. Eric took out a strong list of dudes including second place finisher CT Taylor and third place finisher David Bagley. Eddie Guilbeau, Rodrigo Miranda and Nick Guilarte rounded out the rest of the final.
