After having to reschedule the Pismo Pier event last month during a random flat spell, we lucked into some great waves over this last weekend. The arctic cold north winds in the morning had everyone bundled up and hoping for a later heat draw to escape the possible frost bite. But as the day settled in and everyone defrosted, the winds and swell seemed to cooperate as a massive crowd lined the pier to watch the finals unfold. In the Groms divisions, Jonah Pierce put in a great performance throughout the day and wound up in the runner up position to Micah Nelson who claimed the Grom win and heap of prizes, including a BMX bike. The Girls final was held in some great waves and was a tight fight between Alana Hendrickson, Rachel Harris and Demi Boesterli. When the sheets were tallied it was Demi taking the win along with a backpack stuffed with prizes. In the Juniors final, Antonie Allen and Christian Ramirez went wave for wave the whole heat with Antoine edging out Christian by half a point for the win. The Pro-Am heats were stacked from the very get go and it was anyone's game. In the final it was Bobby Morris snagging the lined up makable tubes off the pier which earned him $50 and a pair of shades for the Electric Volt Thrower move of the event along with the $500 first place Pro-Am purse.
