With two tops left on the California leg, the VQS Tour presented by MUSCLE MILK came blazing full bore into Ventura this last weekend. First light Saturday brought fridge temps, but long rippable right at Pipes and by mid morning the temperatures were in the 70's and glassy conditions dominating Pipes for most of the day. Over 175 competitors battling it out for those crucial qualifying points including Parker Coffin who showed up and displayed some great backside surfing and took home a $1000 with the win in the Pro-am division. Pitus Higgins won the prestigious Watermelon award for having the best attitude all day as well as making it to final at his first VQS EVER! Marco Mignot flew all the way over from France to steal the win from the local c-street kids and take a $100 cash for stomping the ELECTRIC VISUAL Volt Thrower maneuver of the day. Shaun Burns made the trip down from Santa Cruz, but didn't have the luck that he did at the Lane the weekend before. Neverless he's already has two wins and a guaranteed spot in the 2013 VQS Newport Champs.
By mid day the temps were in the 70's and the point was packed with people.
