Stop #1 Volcom Wild in the Parks - Volcom HQ
Stop #1 of Volcom’s Wild In The Parks got the tour rolling at Volcom’s private skatepark in Costa Mesa, CA on Saturday May 23, 2015. This year we have joined forces with The Berrics and The Skateboard Mag to elevate our Wild in the Parks series to a massive audience. As a result, the Wild in the Parks series is showcasing amazing talent from amateur skateboarders across North America and their quest to make a name for themselves in skateboarding. Stop #1 of the WITP tour had a magnitude of tech tricks, powerful grinds, and a mix of old school flavor that kept the crowd cheering from start to finish. It was a battle to the very end as the 14 & under, 15 – 21, and Open/AM divisions vied for 1/7 invites (in each division) to the $15,000 WITP Championships at The Berrics in Los Angeles, CA on October 17th. With their help we are able to take food scraps and World Centric's compostable materials from the Volcom Pipe Pro event site, and layer them into the compost heaps at the farm just across the street from Pipeline. That compost is then cycled into the crop rotation to provide healthy organic produce for their CSA members (of which, the Volcom House at Pipe, is). Waihuena Farm's mission is to facilitate a flourishing community whose healthy economy is nourished through ecological roots, to grow FOOD & a PLACE to support quality of life, health and well-being. Volcom X Berrics Present the 2015 Wild in the Parks
Volcom’s 2015 North American Wild in the Parks season kicks off on May 23, 2015 with the support of our new partners The Berrics and The Skateboard Mag. With these highly respected new allies, Wild in the Parks will reach an even larger audience, making this contest series the definitive path for those pursuing a professional career in skateboarding. The Berrics and The Skateboard Mag will travel to each stop of the contest series, producing editorial coverage and exclusive video that will live on their respective websites, ensuring that the contest entrants get the quality and exposure they deserve. All this should prove to deliver the most exciting Wild in the Parks season yet! Celebrating 13 years as the ultimate proving grounds for emerging skateboarders, Volcom’s Wild in the Parks (part of the Volcom Let The Kids Ride Free initiative) is a free amateur skateboard contest series showcasing emerging skateboarders in major regions around the world.
