Georgia Jagger and Coco Ho True To This Parka
Though they may lead very different lives, Georgia Jagger and Coco Ho find a similarity in how true they are to themselves. Whether you're stylish like Georgia or a surf babe like Coco, if you're a part of the Volcom squad, you're True To This. Plain and simple.   We're kicking off September with a strong 'True To This' message. We had Georgia and Coco channel their inner artists to create the True To This message in their own way. Our Walk On By Parka is the perfect platform for that message!   Wanna join in on the fun? Shop our Walk On By Parka, buy some paint supplies and show us how creative you can get with the 'True To This' message! Stay tuned this month to see more incredible people join in on the fun. We have photographers, models, musicians, artists and Volcom Babes showing us their creativity with 'True To This'!
Road Trip Contest Winner Instagram Takeover
If you follow @volcomwomens on Instagram, then you might recall a recent road trip contest we promoted in which the winner would take her girlfriends on an epic road trip! Well that winner was Savanna Rose and she took her 3 friends - Tori Ray, Mary Jane Malone and Hannah Nicely - on the road trip of a lifetime! We packed their bags full on Volcom Women's clothing, road snacks and a $100 gas card to take them anywhere they want to go. They chose to drive to North Carolina all the way from Florida! This week, we are letting Savanna take over our Instagram to give everyone a peek into their adventure. You should definitely give Volcom Women's a follow to take a look at the beautiful sights and fun memories they made. In the mean time, take a look at the other beautiful shots Tori Ray took! Now that looks like a fun road trip to us! All photos by Tori Ray. See more of Tori Ray's work on her Instagram @torirayphotography and her website. Follow Savanna Rose on Instagram. William Aliotti - You Only Tell The Truth In The Dark (short film)
Last month, William Aliotti won the Arica Pro WQS event in Chile in epic surf conditions, his first-ever WQS win. In a strange (but, lucky) turn of events, William actually stopped doing contests as of lately and started focusing more on free surfing and traveling, but ended up entering the Arica Pro because he was in the area. And won. Rad, right?! William's heart is still set on the free, and more creative, side of professional surfing, and we're excited to follow him on his journey. Enter: You Only Tell The Truth In The Dark, William's inspirational short film directed by Desillusion Magazine's Sebastien Zanella. Illustrating a vision of surfing rarely seen, an ode to solitude, introspection and the pursuit of a personal journey, and hundreds of miles away from a familiar place, sets the mood for this film. This romantic, pastoral-influenced piece inspires us to leave culture and technology behind, and to rediscover nature through surfing as an exploration beyond social conventions. With a packed camper truck, a few sturdy boards, and a couple cameras, William and Sebastian embarked on a two-thousand mile solo surf explorational road trip along the Chilean coastline, traveling across the dusty Atacama Desert, multiple ghost towns, and countless eccentric fisherman villages from Santiago to Arica. In this feature, the journey is the destination. Please enjoy You Only Tell The Truth In The Dark. (watch above)
Win $10K by Entering the Stab x Volcom Contest!
Do you like money, like $10,000 of it? Are you good at coming up with cool ideas? Cool ideas that could be Stab's next big photoshoot?! Stab and Volcom invite you to The House That You Built, an unprecedented contest which literally brings you into the world of film, art, and surfing, taking your crazy idea from concept to reality in a matter of a few short months. And the best part (with the help of a cool $10K), directing the entire photoshoot. You're in the director's chair, and we are listening to YOU. Now, let's get started... Part 1, a simple online idea submission asking for your most creative and outrageous surfing photoshoot concept. You can draw your idea, show us pictures, write it out, email us, whatever, just as long as you submit it before Friday, September 30 here then you're in the running. No idea is too big. Got something wild? Something you've never seen done before, or something that is so ridiculously crazy that you're a little embarrassed you came up with it? If the answer is yes, then we want it. Remember Bruce Irons illuminating a pitch black tube or the neon techno night shoot at a wave pool? These are examples of what we're looking for. But think BIGGER and BADDER because it's all about elevating what we've already seen. Part 2, directing the shoot. The person who delivers the winning idea, aside from receiving $10,000, will direct the shoot, utilizing Stab's professional production team and Volcom's A-list surf team. A rich library of knowledge will be at your fingertips to help you execute and direct the shoot, and don't worry, we'll be there each step of the way if you need any assistance. But if you're an inspiring filmmaker and hoping for this chance to make your presence known, then this is your time to shine! Sit in your director's chair, boss us around, and yell out orders through your megaphone, because you're the director, and that's what directors do.   Entries must be in before Friday, September 30, 2016!   ENTER NOW!
The Vickie Report: Volcom X Anti-Hero in NYC
Back in July we headed out to New York City with Grant Taylor, Chris Pfanner, Daan van der Linden and the rest of the AntiHero Crew. We were out there to film an edit celebrating the new Volcom X AntiHero collection for Thrasher Magazine. As AntiHero pro Frank Gerwer put it, "AntiHero and Volcom formed like Voltron with an extra chromosome in New York City. It’s exactly like Wu-Tang but without the RZA—just a retarded headless robot wandering the streets looking for stuff to smash and/or set on fire." Through the streets of NYC to the backyard pools of Long Island and across the way to Shortys in New Jersey, the crew destroyed everything they skated. Watch the documentation of our trip above and read the article from the October issue of Thrasher Magazine by clicking here or the image below!
Austin, Tx In A Day with Dollin, Pfanner & Louie
With the dog days of summer in our rearview mirror, this is the time of year where we find ourselves trying to make the most of every moment of slowly fading daylight. These last few days before Labor Day offer the perfect opportunity to get out and explore that new spot you've been meaning to check out all summer, meet up with friends to reminisce about recent adventures, and in general stay out as late as possible. Cause if we can't slow down time, we can at least live slow in the time that's left. Dustin Dollin, Chris Pfanner and Louie Lopez are captured here doing just this for our FW'16 lookbook shot by Danny Zapalac. The trio spent a leisurely day in Austin, TX exploring new swimming holes, skating around town and eventually hit up a house show where local songstress, Emily Cross, performed.
