Corey Howell dissecting a left pier bowl.
There really could not have been a better timed Volcom Totally Crustaceous Tour Seacow Surf Series event in Jacksonville Beach, FL. The @Volcom_East crew had us dialed in with sweet rooms @palmsretro and a really cool spot @mellowjax for the pre-event signup party. Not to mention a premier of the new Volcom surf film Psychic Migrations at a rad venue in downtown Jacksonville, the Sunray Theater. Oh yea and there was a hurricane right off the coast so the waves were just insane, I mean so good.
RipTickleHands, Travelocity Gnome, Jailbeard Dane.
First was the movie premier and everyone packed into this amazing old theater in downtown Jacksonville with riders Mike Gleason, Balaram Stack, Parker Coffin, and Noah Schweizer. That was a super fun night and the movie is really good so the night was filled with hoot, hollers, and yewwww’s!
Jake McGuire, lip slide heater.
Stone man run-ith.
Saturday morning everyone was fired up to get to the beach and get set up. There was no question the waves were good so everyone was moving to get set up. We got underway and right into the Juniors division, which I’m pretty sure didn’t have one heat that wasn’t stacked. These kids were ripping all day and Micah Cantor won a very contested division in the final. The Squids and the Groms divisions were much the same story as the Juniors in that every heat was full of great surfing and great waves to showcase on. Blake Spier snagged the win in the Groms and Sterling Makish got the win in everyone’s favorite Squids division. The Girls division was insane and I am pretty certain it was one of the most talented I’ve seen on tour yet, these Girls were absolutely ripping all day and Storm Pittman ended with a win her final heat. Last but not least was the Pro-Ams and what these kids can do in that type of surf was impressive to watch. Corey Howell took the win the last heat of the day, clinching his spot at Lower Trestles with all the other 1st and 2nd place Seacow finishers .
