Last Friday Geoff Rowley, Aaron Suski, David Gravette, Dennis Busenitz and Chris Pfanner
descended on Toronto and marked the beginning of the Volcom Canada Tour. After hours
of flight time and a good night sleep, the crew was prepped to take on their first demo of
the tour at Toronto’s Ashbridges. Arriving to a crowd of over 500 kids, undoubtedly the
boys were pleased with the turnout and fed off the level of excitement fueled by the
spectators. Joining them was Canadian Stone counterparts Adam Green and Ben Patterson.
Gravette kicked off the demo with some heavy half moon annihilation while the rest of the
team seemed to feel most at home on the bank/ledge gap and Pfanner found his own
route through a 15 foot flat gap. After a solid 4 hour demo, the vans were loaded up and
Volcom’s Bowl Shop Battle was next on the agenda. The Bowl Shop Battle brought together
10 Volcom accounts to compete head-to-head for cash and prizes.
Turning up at the bowling alley most of the gang had no idea how the talent would bowl,
but it turns out each skaters personal style was undeniably transferred to the lanes. Suski
had a smooth fluid throw while Busenitz started running from the concession stand to get
enough speed for his toss.
The majority of Sunday was spent dodging the rain until almost by an act of fate, the
clouds parted and the Toronto skies gave us the OK for street destruction. The crew
barreled through the city hitting from spot to spot each finding their own niche. After a
long day of skating, a well-deserved steak at The Keg was the icing on the cake.
Only 3 days in and so much has already happened. Keep your eye on the site for exclusive
