Stop #4 of Volcom Stone’s Wild in the Parks blazed it’s way through Ed Benedict
Plaza Sat. July 14, 2012!
The Northwest turned up the heat! This was our second year at ol’ Ed Benny and the
skillet was serving up the skills. The NW has got some mind melting talent and the
skateboard sorcerery is festering nicely. The plaza bore witness to a scorching
performance!

The contest started with the bang that is the 14 & Under Division! The youth stacked
up the piles of tricks meticulously around the 3 contest zones. The ripping was fast
and furious and the judges could barely keep up! At the end of the day, it was Austin
Thongvivong taking home 1st, Jesse Nations sqeezed into 2nd and Jackson Parish
locked down third.

A couple of 10 and Under competitors came out and represented for the young
bloods of the future. Milo and Miles Hayden mixed it up and stoked everyone out
with some serious shralping.

The 15 and Over Division got down to business in a hurry and made their winning
intentions clear! Breaking out the super tech with lazer flips, blizzard flips, and late
foot flips this group was not holding anything back. As the ashes settled and the
winners announced, it was Ben Campbell taking 1st, Berkeley Anderson 2nd and
Jesse Elkinton 3rd! Good showing gents!

This year’s Open division brought the fire! There were nearly 50 competitors from all
over the northwest vying for the glory. With so much talent spread throughout the
three heats, there wasn’t a dull moment to be found. Once the judges had narrowed
this group down to the finals round, the true show down took place.
Despite having his board stolen but then re-claimed Xeno Miller took home the
victory! Sean Holbroke was nipping at his heals with a 2nd place finish and Justin
James nabbed 3rd.
