BRATRUD PIN UP SHOW AT THE VOLCOM BERKELEY STORE!

Last Friday, we made the short flight to Oakland, followed by an even shorter BART ride to Berkeley for the 5th stop of the Bratrud Pin Up art show. After the first four events in Sydney, LA, Sao Paulo and Tokyo we pretty much knew what to expect. When we got to the Volcom store on Telegraph Ave it was almost time for the show and there was already a gangload of kids from the school that is right next door: Cal Berkeley. The night was filled with some new and familiar faces: Todd Bratrud and his trusty sidekick Devon Green were at hand to field questions from the hippy girls of the Bay area, though they did not sign nearly as many autographs as they did in Japan. What is it with the Japanese people and their obsession with autographs anyway? There was also a performance by Francisco, a local street artist and as always, keeping all the girls weak at the knees was our very own DJ Wade on the turntables. By the time the noise curfew kicked into full effect and all the promo was gone, we hightailed it to San Fran and continued the night until the wee hours of the next day....
