PIPELINE PUMPS FOR DAY 2 OF THE VOLCOM PIPE PRO!!

Banzai Pipeline, Oahu, Hawaii (February 3rd, 2014): After three consecutive "Lei Days", Pipeline awoke with a roar this morning and day two of The Volcom Pipe Pro got underway. The decision to run was an easy one when contest directors rolled into the Volcom House and saw some of the best waves of the contest waiting period so far. Conditions were very good with light NE trade winds and firing 8-12 foot Pipeline.

Everyone knew it was going to be a day to remember as soon as the first few heats were completed and all throughout the day we saw deep barrels, late drops and crazy wipeouts.

There were incredible moments in every heat but one of the highlights of the day was heat number nine with John John Florence, Evan Geiselman, Michael February and wildcard Parker Coffin. It was a battle of the four youngsters, one of which is the three-time Volcom Pipe Pro champion. Evan Geiselman went nuts right out of the gate and caught one of the waves of the day scoring a 9.63. He then backed his wave up with another amazing tube ride and earned an 8.90 just a few minutes later. After taking a bad wipeout, Parker Coffin paddled out the back and stroked into a bomb and got barreled across the entire reef to the tune of a 9.40. Unfortunately for John John, Pipe did not cooperate with him today and the two Pipeline newcomers upset one of the favorites to win the event.

VOLCOM X SKULLPHONE II FOOTWEAR COLLAB

Where the fresh ocean air meets the transient grit and oxidized metal of The Port of Los Angeles, artist Skullphone satirizes modern conveniece with playfully dark images. In the spirit of west coast urban sprawl, Volcom offers ‘The Skullphone II’, a limited edition design inspired by the colorful racket that is Los Angeles, as part of its Holiday 2014 collection. The army green swede upper pays homage to the stacks of shipping containers that line the L.A. horizon while the printed sole features Skullphone’s signature imprint hiding inside his visual interpretation of iconic port signage. Fragmented paint from his studio floor add the final organic texture to make ‘The Skullphone II’ a one-of –kind sleeper cell you have to have. Get Yourself A Pair Online Now!

Rune Glifberg, 2nd Place in The Berrics 'In Transition'

The Berrics held a contest where they picked 10 of the most progressive skaters on the planet to choose one location each—any location in the world—and film a full part. Volcom's very own Rune Glifberg and one of skateboardings newest pro's Ben Raemers were two of the chosen. Viewers of the videos were the deciding factor in the contest as they voted for the winner. Rune picked his hometown park in Copenhagen, Denmark while Ben picked a gnarly DIY spot in East London to film their parts. After voting closed it and votes were counted, Rune came out in 2nd place! You can watch both of their parts over at The Berrics by clicking the images below. Congrats again Rune! Mr. Plant European Tour

The Euro leg of the global Mr. Plant Tour is a wrap and what a blast It was… We may be sad to part ways with the flora & fauna of the Mr. Plant entourage but our livers and bio clocks are thanking us. 6 EU premiere stops over the course of 9 days turned out to be 7 in the end. After countless beers, happy faces, planes, trains, automobiles, and more than 2000km spent in a tiny-foul-smelling Ford Focus, I'm having a hard time finding words that can express all the fun shared with friends new & old. All I will say is that Mr. Plant is one helluva movie you cannot allow yourself to miss. Superlatives like "Best since The Garden" are ticking in from the remotest corners of the world. And the man behind the Plant, Pat Moore himself, is as real as they come. Pat has an uncanny ability of focusing 100% on one thing at a time. Be it snowboarding or shaking a fans hand, looking him in the eyes and paying attention, the perpetually friendly Mr. Plant always delivers. He is as unique a human being as he is a snowboarder and his sidekick and movie Director Jake Price is a mighty fine fella as well But hey, don't take our word for it. Stop by one of the 20+ remaining global Mr. Plant premiere stops, go up to Pat & Jake and say hi and find out for yourself. Otherwise contain your enthusiasm until November 5th as that is the date when Mr. Plant drops on Itunes. To all of you that hosted us or came to the premieres- we thank you very much and look forward to seeing you in the snow. Here's a selection of photos by Volcom Snow Paparazzi Vernon Deck that show what you missed if you weren't there..
