Toy Machine X Volcom Collab Party

This past Wednesday, June 11th, the bloodsucking skateboard company Toy Machine and Volcom came together to throw a party to launch our mind blowing collab with mutual rider Collin Provost! Among industry folk, team riders and the other 4,000 plus party goers in attendance we had the bands Fart Barf, Spindrift and Early Man providing us with some heavy jams. Pizzanista, The Viking Food Truck and Clara Cakes also came out to keep us fed and Red Room's Blake kept our thirst quenched with the free beer! Toy Machine's overlord Ed Templeton was also in attendance and had plenty of epic photos on display for party goers. Check out photos from the night below and a HUGE thanks to all that came out and help put the party together!

This year, Volcom teamed up with the music festival and brought the skating aspect of the party all the way up to eleven with their new ramp, the Super Collider. And with two Skaters of the Year on deck, there was no shortage of air time to keep the spectators happy. If you were unable to make it out this year, take a look at the photo recaps from all three days by clicking the photos below! Volcom at Fun Fun Fun Fest: Day 1 Grant Taylor, Backside 360. Born and raised in the rough suburbs of Columbia, David González made it his mission to forge his own way of life the only way he knew how, through skateboarding. Currently residing in Long Beach, CA, and having spent most of the summer injured and homebound, Desillusion Magazine’s Pierre David stopped by the former SOTY’s home to gain an insight into David’s world. Mr. Plant North America Premier Tour

On Friday October 17th, Volcom kicked off the North American leg of the Mr. Plant Premier Tour. Pat Moore and Jake Price were gearing up for a tour consisting of 8 premiers, 8 cities in 9 days and what better city to kick of the tour than Volcom's  own back yard, Newport Beach, CA. The infamous Lido Live Theater would be the setting for the kick off of the North America Mr Plant tour.  Snowboard industry members and fans a like made their way to the infamous Lido Live Theater in downtown Newport. The 500 seat theater was filled to the brim with a rowdy crew of shred heads. Out from the Volcom Snowboard team to check the film was Pat Moore, Curtis Ciszek, Seth Huot, Bryan Iguchi, Scott Blum, Alex Lopez and Elena Hight. Through out the duration of the film, the theater about blew a screw from the hoots and screams of a hyped crowd, and at the end of the night you couldn't find one person in the theater that didn't have snow on the brain! And this was just the Beginning... The 500 seat theater was jam packed!    Wooly introduced the crowd to the upcoming nights festivities.  Pat and Jake brought up the team for a final thanks before rolling the film.   Free stuff! The Mission Theater in Portland, OR would host the 2nd stop of the Mr. Plant North America Tour. Open bar dude! Pat's ending part brought the crowd to their feet. Pat and Jake brought the party down the street to Slabtown for some cold PBRs and old school Punk. Bi-Marks tearing down the doors. See you in the morning Vancouver! Jake spent his birthday at the Vancouver premier stop, here you see Pat leading all of the Bimini's Public House in singing Jake Happy Birthday. Bimini's Public House had no shortage of TVs, and Mr.Plant was playing on everyone of them. See, told you... [caption id="attachment_11720" align="aligncenter" width="640"] The moment the credits rolled, Black Wizard got straight to melting faces. Perfect way to end a great show in Vancouver! The Uptown Theater in Seattle was ready for the rowdy Mr. Plant crew.[/caption] Mr. Plant stickers were a hot commodity. Northwest Sales Rep Clint Graham welcomes his fellow Seattle citizens to the show. Roll the film Pat! This kid snuck out of his crib to see the movie! The boys brought the after party to Spitfire, while Jamie Lynn and Wes Makepeace brought the tunes. Those who joined were amping, especially Pat Moore. Jamie and Wes go by Tittyfish. You'll be hard pressed to find a more legendary band in the snowboard scene. Thanks for the jams guys, and goodnight Seattle!   Asymbol Gallery had a special Mr. Plant photo gallery waiting for Pat and Jake once they got into Jackson Hole.   The gallery featured a collection of Vernon Deck's photos from the filming of Mr. Plant.   Travis Rice was syched to show they guys what he had prepared for them.   Pat gave Bryan Iguchi a print out of the photo collection as a gift for all he did for the film.   Snowboard film making genius and director of Mr. Plant, Jake Price, caught in the act.   The Center of the Arts was up and running for the Jackson, WY premier stop.   Hand over the Mr. Plant goodies!   Hometown hero, Bryan Iguchi thanks Pat, Jake and his local crowd for joining for the night's excitement.   Jackson Hole was very pleased!   A rowdy mob waited out front of the Tower Theater in Salt Lake City.   In the mob was a laundry list of snowboard heavy weights, these two included. JP Walker and Jeremy Jones waiting for the doors to open.     Director Jake Price with the man with the opening part, Jake Welch. Bust the doors down and get a good seat!   Pat was caught off gaurd by all the excited shred heads!   The theater always goes nuts when JLA comes on screen.   Pure pandemonium! SLC rocked the house down. Definitely the loudest crowd on tour yet!     Next stop, Summit Music Hall, Denver, CO. As fans made their way over to the theater from the Bronco's game, Muscle Beach welcomed them with heavy riffs and beer spray.   Satellite Boardshop out of Boulder announced the winners of the Crew Battle video contest they put on. Volcom's very own Dylan Alito and friends took the win! ZSC!!   By the time the movie played, the theater was shoulder to shoulder.   Elena seamed to find enough room for a slash...   The Denver snowboard scene was running high after a stiff Pat Moore/Metallica cocktail. Perfect time to a product toss!   To cap off Pat's stay in Denver, Taun Taun lulled him to sleep with throttling drums and wailing guitar solos. Just how Pat likes it.   For the last and final stop of the Mr. Plant North American Premier Tour, Montreal!   Cabaret Underworld would host the finally send off, and it did not disappoint.   Pat even got in the Montreal spirit! Him and Jake thank the crowd for sending them home with a proper hangover.   Stoney Baloney   The boys were sad to be done with the North American leg of the Mr.Plant premier tour, but then again, what did they have to complain about when the next stop is Asia?! Later boys, and good luck... After a whorl wind tour of 8 premiers, 8 cities in 9 days, Pat and Jake were exhausted, but running high on North American stoke! Now, it is off to Asia to hype of South Korea and Japan. Mr. Plant out!

The Starfish Surf Series goes off in near perfect conditions at River Jetties!

The Frog House was packed, but with free food and games no one was worried. Wooly stopped by to take some photos with the local celebrities! TK the owner of Frog House and Wienerschnitzel lover getting the Groms all fired up! The Sandman family doing some shopping for the Holidays! You know you want that sweater. River Jetties never disappoints, we can always count on fun surf and tons of screaming kids! If for some reason you weren’t in Newport Beach this weekend you may have missed out on yet another incredible Starfish Event at River Jetties…not to mention the signup pre party at the Frog House with TK dressed as a Weinerschniztel throwing shrimp on the Barbie. Wooly was there, Balaram Stack was there, and of course a small Army of amped Grommies were there, frothing and ready to get signed up for Saturdays event When the tide dropped out the waves began to crank!  Kevin Shulz took full advantage. Saturday morning brought early light with the recent time change and also our first view of what looked to be very contestable surf. As always the crew was there and so were the Grommies ready to help set up and get the Starfish event under way. We fought a high tide for the first part of the morning but the kids made the best of it and as the tide dropped the River Jetties sandbars came to life! Through the middle of the event and into the later rounds we were witness to some of the most insane surfing Southern California has to offer. You have to stay on your toes during TCT events, you just never know when the flour is coming. When it was all said and done Jake Kelley took home the coveted Pro/Am division, the giant check, and the $500 smackaroos. Also taking top honors was Connor Dand shredding his way though the Juniors, Rairu Ito grabbing the top spot in Groms, Dane Matson slid into the squids leading role, and Meah Collins winning out for the Ladies. It was a great day of surfing and we can’t thank our sponsors Penny Skateboards and Rev’d Bars for coming down and hanging out with us all day and giving us a break from the screaming children, also New Era Caps, Surfing Magazing, and of course Wienerschnitzel for keeping us feed all weekend. As always thank you to all the competitors and families that made this event so special! Gunner Day is no stranger to letting his tail loose in perfect River Jetty conditions. Games and fun went pretty much all day! Kevin Shulz shredded all the way to a 3rd place finish in the Pro Am division. Hoola hooping down the beach for the win! The Pro Am division didn't have the most kids, but it was by far the most talented. Jake Kelly show of how to make it through your heats! Penny was down on the beach all day making sure the Groms stayed stoked! I'm leaving on a "Jett" plane! Jett Schilling spreading those wings on his way to the finals! This young lady walked away arms full! With the Squids having 8 first round heats we knew we had the best ten and unders from the entire state. Cole Houshmand took down a respectable 3rd place finish in the Groms division. You can never go wrong with a 20 Grom deep sack race! The talent was second to none and you can bet Newport will have a fighting chance to take the win at TCT Champs. Top three finalists in every division scored a brand spanking new Penny skate deck! At one point during the day every single wave had an air section and the competitors were taking full advantage. Pro Am and Juniors finalists showing off all their winnings! Jake Kelly battled through an extremely close final just nudging out Newport local Colin Moran. Groms and Girls trying to wipe the flour out of their eyes.
