PBRJ FRANCE
For the second consecutive year, Volcom Stone’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam stopped in Luz Ardiden, a small resort located in the French Pyrenees. Despite a difficult beginning of season weather wise (lots of rain and fog), a good snowfall preceded the event allowing us a good afternoon of Shredding on the Friday afternoon and letting HO5 shapers prepare a fun setup.

Contest started when the barbecue got fired up and the local pistoleros assaulted the rails fearlessly. Don’t know if it was because of the bad weather forecast or the good reputation of our sheriff but some of the Pyreneans outlaws rail rippers didn’t show up and missed a chance to walk home with tons of prizes, some cash, qualify for the Euro final in Laax and enjoy a good day of riding.

But the rumor of a cash convoy passing by caught the attention of the banditos from the other side of the border… they came full force and they almost stole the whole bag of gold. Here is the story of the attack:

In the 15 and under division young Manex Azula wouldn’t let a chance to his contenders with a super smooth and solid style and shot them down without any remorse.

In the Girls division battle was fierce but in the end last year winner Gore took the win like last year while it was a showdown between Astrid Dupont and Sara Berdeyes after an equal 2nd place.

In the 16 and over division François Thevenet did good and qualified for the European PBRJ champs in Laax finishing at the 3rd place, Laurent Duhald was hitting the rails harder at each run but couldn’t do anything against Malcom Faure who claimed victory.

It is the first year that we run the open category and Butch Cassidy would be proud of the bandit’s robbery. Pierre Angot took the 5th place with a smooth style and Mikel Gorriti gapped the butter table into the 4th place. There was another showdown between Juan Polanco and Joffrey Marcou with Juan getting creative with all kind of tricks and landing at the 3rd place getting 100€ cash on top of his other prizes and qualifying for the champs. Joffrey took the 2nd place earning himself 150€ and his gap 270 frontboard on the butter table obstacle got him an extra 50€ from Electric for the Gooeyest move of the event. David Vicecite took the win and the 200€, a brand new Nitro board, Electric goggles, some massive Aerial7 headphones and tons of Volcom products, plus we found his car keys that he lost on the snow earlier that day…Aupa David.

The day ended with a traditional product toss and a couple of refreshing beverages and everybody went home with a huge smile. Big thanks to everyone that helped us run the event: Luz Ardiden resort and Xavier and Claude at HO5 snowpark, Picolo and Maude, our staff, Pacome « Pancho Villa » and his intern at Electric, the judges Sylvain, Felix who was injured, Mickey and Minnie at Mickey Snowboard, Jason Horton for the pics, Kim multimedia for the clip and Nitro , Nixon , Aerial 7 and Electric for the prizes and support.
