Be as specific as you can. Whenever possible, obtain an actual photograph of the goods. If photographs are not possible, or you do not have a camera available, write down what you observed including quantity, season, colors available, etc.

Additional Guidance:

If observed at a KIOSK or portable cart in a mall:

• Also provide us with contact information for the mall owner or general manager
• Obtain a photograph of the entire portable cart, kiosk or stand

If observed at a STORE in a mall or department store:

• Photos of the product, labels or tags would be ideal – to prove that the goods were available.
• Ask the sales person what other VOLCOM products they carry
• Observe the average prices, inspect hangtags, and remember to check display units

If observed at a flea market or open air market:

• Carefully observe what other brands are being sold alongside the VOLCOM goods
• Estimate the quantity of goods available, determine the main product (shirts, jeans?)
• Follow-up may be necessary by a private investigation for this sort of infringement

If observed on the INTERNET:

• Obtain a screen-shot of the exact page where the infringing goods are observed
• Determine whether this is an auction site, or an individual owner’s site
• Forward sample page (or link) and respond to all of the above questions
