Watch the trailer for Holy Stokes! A Real Life Happening, the new Skate Movie coming soon from Volcom
Nearly two years in the making and featuring an international cast of skaters ranging from street legends to transition destroyers to hyper-talented up-and-comers rolling and rallying across the planet, Volcom's forthcoming feature film Holy Stokes! is shaping up to be the feel good hit of the summer. Shot entirely in 4K ultra high-definition and directed by skate-film auteur Russell Houghten, Holy Stokes! marks the first full-length skate film from Veeco Productions since 2007's Let's Live. Shot in dozens of locations spanning every corner of the globe, it builds on more than 20 years and 30 influential films from the world of Volcom. "I'm really excited for people to see this film," says Volcom's Vice President of Skate Remy Stratton, "it's been a long time coming. I know the team riders are excited too and right now our team is firing, so it's cool to be able to showcase all that talent through the Volcom lens." And with the brand's legacy of progressive, non-traditional films, he says, "having Russell directing it is a perfect fit." Russell's perspective is this: "Holy Stokes is a visual documentation of raw skateboarding and the pursuit of stoke. It has been an awesome nightmare and my most ambitious project yet." The world premiere of Holy Stokes! is set for May 20th, 2016 in Los Angeles, California with a North American and International premiere tour to follow from May 20th-June 6th, 2016. Holy Stokes! will be available on iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, xBox and Vimeo onDemand on June 7th, 2016. Holy Stokes! stars these dudes: Alain Goikoetxea, Alec Majerus, Alex Midler, Axel Cruysberghs, Ben Raemers, Caswell Berry, Chris Pfanner, CJ Collins, Collin Provost, Daan Van Der Linden, Dane Burman, David Gonzalez, Dennis Busenitz, Dustin Dollin, Grant Taylor, Jackson Pilz, Jordan Trahan, Kyle Walker, Milton Martinez, Louie Lopez, Pedro Barros, Rune Glifberg, Ryan Sheckler

Volcom Bastille Days Opening
Cliquez ici pour la version Française On Wednesday July 1st, Volcom opened its skate obstacle, which will remain all summer long on the Esplanade du Port de l’Arsenal, Place de La Bastille in Paris. The afternoon started with the official opening by the Paris city council, with the presence of three Mayors of the surrounding districts, and then the spot got invaded by skateboarders, never minding the high temperatures (Europe is sweating under a record heat wave). Tons of goodies were given away at our DIY stations (tee shirt screening, hat customising and button making…) and in no time, everyone was hyped to watch the action unfold. Dustin Dollin, David Gonzalez, Eniz Fazliov, Axel Cruysberghs, Victor Pellegrin, Vincent Coupeau and Romain Covolan from the Volcom skate team put down a demo matching the heat! At the end of the demo the list of ABD’s of the spot got quite filled up with notably a switch fs 360 and a switch flip from Axel over the trash bin, some trademark crails from David, an alley oop fs 270 heelflip from Eniz and a a double flip by Victor… Right after this some of Paris big dogs entered into the mix during a “Trick 4 Trick” session organised by Electric, where the skaters had to land the same tricks that Electric team skaters David Gonzalez, Axel Cruysberghs and Sam Partaix were doing for cash. The day ended with music and drinks, but unfortunately without the planned live concert due to some tech problems, and the skateboarders took over the spot for a first of a long series of evening sessions. A big thank you to the city council of Paris for bringing this to skateboarding in Paris, Sterling Projects for such a rad design and finishing details, to Cosanostra skatepark, to Carlsberg for the refreshments, Snowbeach, Urban Surfers, Citadium, Hawaii Surf, Guillaume Perimony for the clip and Jelle Keppens for the photos. See you on Sunday July12th, starting at 19h for an instalment of photos from De Paris yearbook, music, refreshments and the screening of the video “Deuxième Vague”-  Entry is free.
