On Sat. June 2, American Fork, UT’s Greenwood Skatepark hosted the inaugural Wild in the Park for the 2012 North American tour.
The series got underway in proper form with close to 150 competitors and another 100-150 ready to consume the madness. The annual pilgrimage was grand for some and the back yard for others but as always, the UT event yields some serious talent. The sun was out, the stage was set, and it’s time to unleash the beast.

Boning It Out Over The Rail!
The 14 and Under Division were first to storm the contest site. With fury and intensity these young prodigies began the un-relentless thrashing the skatepark endured that fine Saturday afternoon. One such fellow was ready with his premeditated attack, traveling from Minnesota, Eddie Fauth swooped in a snatched up the 1st place title. Not far behind was Tanner Oliver securing the 2nd place position and good ol’ Koleman Stoney hammering out a 3rd place victory position.
Brook Whipp and Lina Moenng
New to this year’s Wild in the Parks we are awarding the standout female rippers. Girl’s skating is going through some huge progression and we want to acknowledge the females that are duking it out with the boys. Lina Moenng and Brook Whipp were putting down man-sized tricks in all 3 zones.
Also new to this year we have included a 10 and Under Division. Though small in stature, these young ones are the future and it’s mind blowing to see what this group is capable of. Damon Draper and Jesse Dunbar were awarded Volcom gear for being the standout contenders.

Wallie 5050
The 15 and Over division was the largest division with 80 competitors coming out for a shot at those coveted top 7 places. Blunt slides, disasters, spin out, and flip in were all part of the array of trickery this group put on display. With the final scores tallied, Kevin Hutson walked away with top honors. Also putting on a solid performance was AJ Nevenswander taking home 2nd and the 3rd place title going to Aiden Chamberlain.

Derek Rivera's Flawless Switch FS Biggie!
Chandler Sepert 's Smith To Big
The grande finale: The Open Division! With $500 and a pile of prizing you can always count on UT for a serious showdown. Hometown heros: Tyson Bowerbank, Brodie Penrod, and Matt Fisher were putting the judges to work. Forcing them to sort through a switch lazer flip, blizzard flip, back tail to big flip out, and a backside 540 down the 8 stair! A brutal undertaking but in the end, Brodie reclaimed victor with Tyson in 2nd and Matt taking 3rd. The entire Open division annihilated the contest site and the destruction will not so be forgotten.
