2011 WITP EUROPEAN CHAMPS

If you weren’t in Copenhagen last Saturday then check out the clip to get an idea of what went down at the Faelledparken !

Volcom Stone celebrated the European Wild In The Parks Championships at that outstanding outdoor skatepark in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Some skaters from all over Europe gathered and spent the day with us to compete, but mostly have a good time, enjoy the layback and nice atmosphere of the city, party, meet the locals, and skate the parks and get some tricks down some sick street spots.

What is fun about this contest is that it gathers plenty of people who qualified in their local WITP (Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, France, England, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Holland), not only the usual suspects you’ll find in every big summer comp, but also the local heroes and the up-and-coming shredders that you’ll see soon everywhere.

This special mix is the recipe for an explosive contest, an amazing show and some good times. The jam sessions were wild and some ridiculous tricks went down. The weather was cooperating (skateboarding is stronger than the weather as the MC said), the burgers chiefs were on point, the local kids were amped all day and the scooter kids got to see how much fun you can get on a skateboard, and kids their age destroying the park.

The day end with the usual prize giving where everyone needs a trolley to carry the stuff they win home…from bikes to guitars, RC copters, Ipod listening stations, VANS shoes, ELECTRIC Sunglasses, JART decks and wheels, a Custom Volcom entertainment guitar, some sick trophies and of course tons of Volcom gear. There was also some prize money for all categories, and Bruno, Viktor, Hermann and Jaako will skate at the 25 000$ WITP Champs in Austin Texas in 2 weeks!

Gard Hvaara from Norway was on fire and finished up at the second place in the 14 and under division

Previous year champs Axel Cruysberghs landed millions of tricks including this massive fs flip in zone 2, a flip lipslide pretzel on the fun box or some 50-50 bs 180 out down the big rail! He took the 4th place in the Open division this year.

Victor Pellegrin could also have won the Hype of the day award so stoked he was to be there. He landed serious hammers in the 3 spots such as a fs feeble back lip on the big rail or this nosebluntslide. He took the 3rd place in the open division.

Fries Tailleu from Belgium finished up at the 5th place in the opens and shredded all day. Kickflip bs 50-50
