Latin America Skate Team's 5-Day Costa Rican Tour

For the third time this year, Volcom’s Latin American skate team rallied together for an epic five-day tour and vacation in Central America. This year we hit Costa Rica and enlisted: Michael Scottfrom Mexico, Jhancarlos Gonzalez from Colombia, Federico Rossotti from Uruguay, Braulio Sagas from Chile, and Kervin Miranda, who is our local Costa Rican rider.

The team spent the first two days of their Jungle Vacation in San Jose, the capital and largest city of Costa Rica. In the city, they had a demo at Arenas Skatepark which is one of our local partners and an all-around great spot to skate. A best trick contest went down and local rippers were able to grab some cash for throwing down the biggest and most difficult tricks.

After a couple days hanging in San Jose, we headed 60 miles southwest to Jaco, a popular resort and beach destination city which lies on the coast. While it’s usually rainy from August through December, we were lucky to score some dry weather and find some great spots to skate. In fact, a few years ago, our friends from Maluko Beleza built a pretty awesome skate bowl which we happened to visit and spent a few hours skating and having a solid time.

From there, we headed straight to Guiones Beach and Eskina Skatepark where the team spent the last two days of the tour checking out the scenery and skating with the locals, who were stoked to be able to share the park with the riders and watch them rip.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Jungle Vacation releasing soon!
