There seems to be no middle ground when it comes to Christmas music, you either love it or you hate it. But one thing's for sure everyone knows that a proper soundtrack is key to making a moment more memorable, so we got some of the team together and asked them to share some of their musical memories from holidays past.
In my camper van there’s only a CD player so the few CDs I have in this car feel like the holidays. Last holiday my girlfriend and I drove around Europe listening to The Doors, The Velvet Underground and David Bowie.
I don't give much about holidays, but I do love good times with the family in the mountains. We listened to Harry Belafonte's "Banana Boat" song day and night on a great trip in the french alps with Arthur Longo and Olivier Gittler a couple years ago. Great memories, good times and we are family.
"With A Little Help From My Friends" because I don’t do anything without my friends.
When the snow is falling and I am inside sitting around the fire, I want to listen to classic rock. Van Morrison or some Rolling Stones set the vibe really nice.
I wouldn't say I'm much of a holiday music person, but Lemmy’s cover of Run Run Rudolf gets me hyped!
Mr. Mackey from South Park singing carol of the bells. The voice of Mr. Mackey really resides in my brain after and makes me reminisce on all the good Xmas memories... ding dong M’kay
I grew up listening to "A Very Special Christmas" every holiday season with my family. It's a compilation of Christmas songs by some of the greatest artists of the 80’s... nothing screams Christmas to me like listening to this album.
I really love all the Jackson 5 Christmas songs. All of them are amazing, but I would say I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus is my favorite.
"Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee is a classic and it always takes me back to being a kid at Christmas time.
Georgia May Jagger:
I love The Ronettes' Christmas songs, but when I have Christmas with my family we always listen to Louis Prima.
During the holidays I listen to the same albums I always listen to, but they just sound better because of the time of year. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Frank Black.
I love Lou Reed so much, but I played so much Velvet Underground growing up that now I prefer listening to the later stuff. When I'm painting I like to listen to "Songs for Drella" "New York" and "Coney Island Baby".
If I wanna party, I like Dead Moon a lot! (R.I.P. Fred Cole).
